The plot on which the house is built is located within the urban area of the town. This plot is practically entirely built on, with an existing single-family house and auxiliary constructions. In the project we propose the demolition of the entire construction, except for an auxiliary construction that is maintained.
The shape of the lot is rectangular, with approximate dimensions of 29.11m long by 8.65m wide. Therefore, the surface of the lot is 245.00m2. One of the short sides, together with one of the long sides, is a party wall. The other two sides face public roads, and will be used as facades of the building. The orientation of the plot is, approximately and following the longitudinal axis of the plot, northwest - southeast. The topography of the plot is sloping, being its highest part on the southeast side of the plot, and with a longitudinal slope of approximately 2.25m.
Due to the constraints of the plot, a rectangular volume is projected that fills the southeast half of the plot, as the original building already does. The other half is left clear, forming a rear courtyard and, on the northwest boundary, the existing auxiliary construction is maintained. Conceptually it is conceived as a brick plinth and lacquered steel doors on which a continuous rectangular volume is placed, with a lattice on the main facade, which protects the terrace, and more conventional openings in the rest of the volume. Traditional compositional elements and materials are used.
The elements are latticework, vertical windows and sloping roofs. The materials used for the facades are brick and plaster, and tile for the roof. The first floor is treated as an exposed solid brick plinth, which houses the entrances to the house and garage, the garage itself and a cellar that is located 1.37m lower than the access to the house, to adapt to the topography of the site. At the rear is the courtyard, enclosed by the brick wall, and the auxiliary construction. It should be noted that in the central part of the rectangle there is a staircase that leads to the different floors of the building. All the rooms have natural ventilation and lighting.
