Sanofi Oficina y Vida
Home as a refuge is irreplaceable for human beings. However, we can reduce the perception of disconfort We are using strategies that enable us to create healthy, dynamic and motivating work environments. This is Sanofi, office and life.
Ruiz-Larrea's intervention as leader designer of the new headquarters The multinational pharmaceutical company's Global Innovation Center is located on 7,000 m2 spread over 5 floors of the Meridiana Tower in Barcelona. Sanofi is home to the company's Global Innovation Center, an international technology hub that leads the company's digital transformation and brings together more than 750 employees and collaborators of 40 different nationalities.
Based on the concept Work Xperience of Sanofi and in response to its demand as a Top EmployerRuiz-Larrea provides a comfortable and sustainable space for its community, incorporating into the workplace comfort guidelines previously reserved for the home, as well as the wellness criteria of the WELL certificate. The goal is to work as one lives: with health, flexibility and attention to human needs.
To achieve this, the work areas (active, moderate and quiet or concentration) facilitate remote connections, creativity and collaborative tasks thanks to a hundred meeting spaces with different levels of privacy. The chromatic proposal, based on the Mediterranean colors of the Catalan coast, differentiates the spaces and orients the circulations while providing warmth and character. The biophilia, the use of wood and the murals recreate the natural, adding serenity and elegance. In the construction phase, volatile or harmful components are eliminated. Ergonomic furnishings combine formality with solutions for relaxation and reflection, such as the hanging seats that look out onto the skyline de Barcelona.
Design and technology are at the service of comfort and the environment. The distribution of the entire space optimizes natural light. Artificial LED lighting is regulated in a way that favors workers' concentration. Heat recovery, air conditioning and domestic hot water systems provide maximum efficiency with the lowest energy consumption. Thanks to this and the minimization of paper use, Sanofi estimates that it will be able to reduce its carbon footprint by 91 metric tons of CO2 per year.
Lastly, the headquarters integrates employee services such as medical consultation, physiotherapy, nutrition, on-site classes, agreements with sports centers and options for proper hydration and healthy eating.
