Architecture COAM Foundation launches the fourth tour of this cycle "The Architect teaches his work" a awarded the Distinction COAM 2010, Solar Hemicycle, Cesar Ruiz-Larrea and Antonio Gómez (Ruiz-Larrea & Asociados) building.

On Friday July 22, 2016 visit to the building with 25 architects who attended the festive event to us to tell them the project was made for the EMVS of Mostoles, where it was analyzed from the design process in his first sketches were made, through the phase work to the use of the building by the end user.

By the way, the Solar Hemicycle follows the sun. The envelope is conceived as a large solar collector during the winter and in summer a huge shade house. The envelope constructive solution allows flexible arrangements, different levels of openness or concealment.

Each apartment is equipped with a solar gallery, using the 2460 hours of sunshine a year that has Mostoles. The air confined inside the gallery is heated by greenhouse and is driven in conditions hygrothermal comfort to cooler rooms in the house, oriented north.
