The day with that name organized by Grupo Vía celebrated its eighth edition in Madrid, highlighting the increase in activity in the sector with new residential, office, hotel, commercial, sports, urban and cultural projects. The event brought together about 200 architecture professionals in the new VP Plaza España Design in Madrid and was sponsored by Tarkett, El Corte Inglés Business Division, Commtech, ABB, Levantina, Placo, Acieroid and FYM Heidelberg Cement. The design director of RLA Ruiz-Larrea & Asociados, Gorka Álvarez explained two rehabilitation projects in Madrid. On the one hand, the reform of the Cibeles Tower in the Bank of Spain Complex, a construction of the 70s very deficient in its execution and that did not comply in terms of accessibility, with poor energy performance and technical dispatches and distributions that did not work. The intervention works the communications taking them out of the interior of the building and generates a new skin as the most characteristic element that in addition to unifying volumetrically the whole acts as a large curtain to improve its energetic behavior. In second place he spoke about the reform of the former Bankia headquarters in the Plaza de las Descalzas to become a new five-star hotel that aims to regenerate its surroundings and public space.
